I wanted to share these shots from my buddy @djmuddy of the Krewe of the Rolling Elvi @rollingelvi in New Orleans. Made from cherry and walnut. He took the scrollsawed pendant of his logo I made him and turned it into a bolo tie with badass eagles on the ends.

I’m super stoked with this little project I did tonight. It might not look like much, but this is a little scrollsaw-cut bolo tie pendant made for my buddy Doug (@djmuddy). This is the logo for his “Krewe of Rolling Elvi” (@rollingelvi) in New Orleans. It’s a Mardi Gras parade krewe that dresses like the King and rides scooters in Mardi Gras parades and other parades year round. Doug makes bolo ties and specified the dimensions. It alllmost came out looking as if it had been cut on a CNC. I knew it was gonna be a challenge and wasn’t sure if I could pull it off without breaking the tiny pieces, but I took it extraordinarily slowly (and used my 2.5x reader glasses) and it came out great! From a technical standpoint, I think this is probably the best scrollsaw cutting I’ve done. Black walnut and American Cherry. #scrollsawart #scrollsaw #bolotie #woodworking #madeinpittsburgh #rollingelvi
