Tonight is the opening soirée/benefit auction for the National Aviary art show. I may have just very quickly made myself a mahogany tie. Because “mahogany tie” is fancier than “black tie”? I literally cut this thing in about ten minutes. The pieces are attached with hastily stapled strips of an old t-shirt. lol
One of my pieces – a pastel pencil sketch of a Great Horned Owl – was used in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette as advertising for the show this year!
My work is in today’s newspaper (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)! They are promoting this weekend’s “Wings and Wildlife Art Show” at the National Aviary. Stop by my booth if you can make it down! There’s nothing like seeing amazing art from 40 wildlife artists surrounded by real birds. @national_aviary @pittsburghpg #wingsandwildlife2017
I also got to do a little art exchange with my new friend Jess Botzan, trading a pencil drawing I did of a screech owl for this awesome crocheted jellyfish!
