Art inspired by biology, created by a biologist
I spent about two months working on this owl during my lunch breaks. It was created with the Procreate App on an iPad Air and is based on a photo I took at the National Aviary.
I saw this spider many years ago in Mebane, North Carolina. The original now graces the home of my awesome future bro-in-law in Colorado.
This beautiful bird is a Golden Conure (Guaruba guarouba) named “Woodstock” that resided at the National Aviary.

I really got a great bunch of photographs from my most recent trip to the National Aviary with my fiance. Needless to say, they have been a huge inspiration in my pastel drawings. This is one of their famed Rainbow Lorikeets (you can feed them nectar!).
