“Sophie”, Daniel D. Brown, 2013, Pencil
A recent commission of this adorable little pug. That corduroy was probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever drawn.

I made these three little quick sketches (each about the size of an iphone screen, which I used for reference) to try out my fiance Tamaryn’s pastel pencils and some new paper I got her. The paper SUCKED. I am now officially sticking with PastelMat, which is miles above everything else I’ve tried.
Another quick little sketch using my fiance Tamaryn’s new colored pencils – mainly just to see how they work.
This is a commissioned pet portrait of a cute pup named Rover that is no longer with us. It was a particular challenge because the reference photos were old and used a flash, so I essentially had to recreate the eyes to bring him to life.
This is my beautiful fiance, Tamaryn’s pup (and soon mine too!), Bandit, AKA Bandyman. It’s an 8″x10″
(See Tamaryn as a a fairy in my artwork here)
Drawn with a mechanical drafting pencil.
Please note: I WILL DO PET PORTRAIT COMMISSIONS.
